MINNEAPOLIS (May 4, 2006) – “The Room Upstairs” directed by Above-the-Line (ATL) Entertainment founder, Justin Schaack and produced by co-founder, Kristin Drummond was selected as a finalist for the Solstice Film Festival being held June 21-25 in St. Paul, Minn.
“It’s very exciting to be a part of the first Solstice Film Festival,” Drummond said. “The festival’s focus on creating an outlet to view films from around the world and featuring Minnesota as an ideal location for filming and the arts is very encouraging for us, as filmmakers.”
The eight minute short film was shot entirely at the LeDuc Mansion in Hastings, Minn. “The mansion has been such an influential part of my filmmaking aspirations, that this was a dream come true to shoot at this historical location,” Schaack said.
The festival includes five nights of film screenings at several locations, including the Fitzgerald Theater, the Jermone Hill Theater, and the McNally Smith Theater. After each night of screenings, filmmakers and the public can mingle at the wrap parties being held in the area.
